Integrated Circuits, CPUs, GPUs, Systems on a Chip, Microcontroller Chips, and all the other different types of microchips are the brains of all the devices and technology that we use on a daily basis. But have you ever wondered how these microchips are made? Well, in this video, we're going to take a tour of a microchip fabrication plant or fab and walk you through the dozens of steps used to make a microchip. CPU, GPU, and Smartphone Microchip manufacturing is a multi-trillion dollar industry, and each factory costs in the tens of billions of dollars. This is an overview of all the processes used to make a microchip, as well as an overview of a microchip factory. We're planning more videos on microchip manufacturing, such as a 3D animated factory tour.
This is the MOST complicated video we've made by FAR!! 4 different animators have been working on this video non-stop for the past 5 months, for a total of 1300 hours of research, modeling, script writing, animating, editing, animating again, rendering, and then more editing. Great demonstration
Truely great work!!😮😮
Really insightful video on microprocessor fabrication! The clear breakdown of each step made the complexity of semiconductor manufacturing much more comprehensible. Appreciate the effort put into this!
At the level of higher education, you can turn textbooks into images and create a new generation of education. Thank you
If you put a venmo link I would send 50 dollars
This is well done. Quite incredible amazing work guys. Thank you again for it.
"Technology is fascinating" :D
Just phenomenal!!
I am thoroughly impressed! The level of detail and effort put into explaining each step of the process is outstanding. This video is incredibly informative and clearly showcases the complexity and precision involved in creating processors. Great job, Branche Education!
Magnificent
Kinda insane that we can manufacture technology so small that it makes a dust particle seem the size of a building... Also 23:40 that's what those numbers mean??? This video truly enlightened me
Such a great content! Thanks for making it available for free! 🤗
One of the best video that explains in detail what i need to understand. Am very great full
❤
Working in the industry (photolithography) for over a decade, watching this on a Friday night, after a very busy work week. And still enjoyed it tremendously! Truly, kudos to BranchEducation team!!
Top quality content. Thank you.
🙏😊
Thanks
The videos on this channel are as marvelous as the process of microchip manufacturing 🔥
this is gold. I love it
1300 hour to make a video and you are telling to put a like ? Take my kidneys if you want
I worked in a semiconductor fab in the late 80's to early 90's.. 35 ish years ago.. things have changed in complexity.. but the fundamentals are similar.. very good video, thank you to the creator/s
woooooooooooooooo, i like it
Absolutely mesmerizing 10/10
Thank you. The most impressive video I have seen.
Great video
This is an outstanding video and should be viewed by everyone. I have a degree in electronics engineering and this video felt like a rewind of all the stuff that took me years to properly understand as a student, and here it took less than 30 minutes with top notch explanation. Would suggest you to collaborate with schools and colleges for your videos to be shown to students. I look forward to watching your videos, thank you for all the great content.
Definitely want to see more about the transistor manufacturing in the later video!
hi
Great video
This video is simply incredible. I'm at a loss of words of the amount of detailed information.
This is probably the best video on chip production hands down I have had to rhe pleasure to watch. Great work! You got a like and new sub.
I was searching for this answer for months. Great video very detailed. Kudos! Now we want the video on how transistors are made inside the chip and also how they create the photosmask. :)
This seems like alien technology.
This video is so accurate I'm gonna spread it all over my electronic engineering course
I work at a plant that makes complete boards. It's amazing to learn the complexities faced by the workers who build these sorts of things.
Love this 😊
Great Video! Good thing there are brains out there building these machines and understand all this complex stuffz.
hey
Extremly high quality video! One question: Why are wafers circular?
это лучшее видео про производство процессоров
Absolutely amazing work. Thank you so much for doing this crazy high quality content.
Awesome 😎👍🎉
Commenting because you asked at minute 21 and deserve this lousy comment
Thanks! I worked in the semiconductor industries back in the nineties. What a change!
What's the significance of the silicone wafer? Like why is Silicone used?
Very cool
The narrator needs to learn the value of silence.
There's just too much information to get through
@@BranchEducation You've got to give us time to process what was said and to have time to take in the graphics. You're spitting out information but you're not _teaching_ anything.
@@BranchEducation Over the past decade, I have periodically watched semiconductor fabrication videos to gain a better understanding of the manufacturing process. In my opinion, this particular video provided the clearest and most comprehensible explanation I have encountered. Additionally, I found the pacing to be excellent.
Great video, thanks a lot! I already knew a bit about chip manufacturing but this video answered lots of questions I still had. Looking forward to the transistor video
Keep it up.
